Steak, red onion and bell pepper skewers on a white plate with a chimmichurri sauce in a small dish to the side

Steak Kabobs

Juicy, marinated steak kabobs is a simple delicious dinner idea. Ideal for my busy bees. You know who you are. Simply marinate the steak while you're at work or the night before, so when you come home all you have to do is throw it on the grill. Boom.

No Oven? No Problem!

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Spray non-stick spray on a a foil lined baking sheet. Arrange your kabobs and bake for 10-13 minutes for a medium doneness.

What type of steak should I use?

Top sirloin and New York Strip are both good choices. Make sure to cube them into uniform size pieces.

Vegetarians and Vegans + What about the vegetables?

Kabobs are traditionally grilled with red onion, mushrooms and bell peppers. But don’t let that stop you from getting your chef on! I love adding pineapple, it brings a sweet punch that compliments the savory meat.

For all my vegan friends! Try squash, zucchini, cherry tomatoes or eggplant.

What’s that green sauce? That is my homemade chimichurri, it goes amazing with the grilled steak, chicken and vegetables. No joke I literally put this sauce on everything. Click here for the easy-to-follow recipe.

  • 1 lb Sirloin steak. look for thicker steaks, cut into 1 ¼ inch pieces

  • 3 Tbsp Worchester sauce.
  • 1/4 cup Olive oil.
  • 1 Tbsp Garlic. minced.
  • 1 ½ Tbsp Lemon juice. freshly squeezed.
  • 1/2 Tbsp Onion powder.
  • 1 tsp Sea salt.
  • 1 Tbsp Freshly cracked black pepper.

  • 8 oz Mushroom caps. baby bella, button or cremini mushrooms. Halved to match the size of the steak unless big enough to keep whole.
  • 1 Large Red onion diced into chunks 1 ¼-inch.
  • 3 Bell peppers. 1 ¼-inch pieces.

  1. Marinade: In a mixing bowl whisk together all marinade ingredients. In a large resealable bag or bowl pour marinade over steak and cover making sure to press out all the air. Let the steak marinate for at least an hour in the refrigerator. If you're using wood skewers, soak them in water. Do this while the steak marinates.
  2. Preheat grill. We want to cook these over a medium-high heat
  3. Season the chopped vegetables with a small amount of olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Assemble kebabs and vegetables separately. This allows you to control the cooking time. The vegetables usually take longer to cook than the steak, so start grilling your veggies first.
  5. Brush grill grates lightly with oil. Place kebabs on grill, turning occasionally. Try not to turn them so much, let the grill do the work. For a medium cooked kabob, grill for 8-9 minutes or using a thermometer, reading 140-145 ° F in the center of the kabob.

  6. Once done let them rest for 3-4 minutes. Enjoy!
